Join San Francisco’s largest permanent supportive housing provider in creating warmth, joy, and connection this season.
Holiday Cheer is HomeRise’s signature volunteer event — a beloved tradition that brings residents, staff, and community partners together each November and December to share the spirit of the season.
Across our 19 supportive housing communities, nearly 1,500 residents experience the joy of beautifully decorated spaces, festive meals, and genuine connection. Each year, companies and volunteers help transform our buildings into homes filled with light, laughter, and belonging.
How It Works
Holiday Cheer happens in two joyful phases; join us for Phase 1, Phase 2, both or just make a financial contribution.
Phase 1: Deck the Halls: Creating Joyful Spaces
November 16 – December 12, 2025
We kick off the season by transforming our buildings into welcoming, festive spaces. Teams of volunteers bring decorations, hang lights, and spread warmth throughout lobbies and common areas.
Phase 2: Celebrate Together: Holiday Events & Meals
December 12 – December 23, 2025
We close out Holiday Cheer with community meals and celebrations. Volunteers serve food, host activities, and share moments that remind us all what community truly means. These gatherings are the heart of the season, filled with gratitude, laughter, and hope.
Get Involved!
Each HomeRise property celebrates in its own way, reflecting the diversity of the residents who call it home. Sponsors can choose a HomeRise building that aligns with their company’s mission or simply support where the need is greatest. Our full decorating and meal schedule is available upon request and buildings are matched on a first come, first served basis.
There are many ways to spread cheer and every gesture makes a difference.
