Our life-changing workforce training and resident engagement programs are helping to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness in our community.
Solutions SF is a social enterprise that helps people build a path to successful employment through comprehensive workforce training and job placement support. This 15-month program supports those who have barriers to gaining employment and lack work experience as a result of past backgrounds and experiences.
The DeskReady program is the first step of preparing individuals for job readiness and employment. The program is designed specifically to meet the unique needs of those who have been left out of the workforce by providing on–going support and targeted skill development to help prepare for lifelong employability.
Life-changing programs help keep residents off the streets — for good. For some, that means continuing to live in supportive housing to ensure they have what they need to thrive. For others, a growing independence means moving into an apartment of their own, opening up units for others who are currently experiencing homelessness.
With supportive housing, people are able to recover from the trauma of homelessness, rebuild day-to-day skills, and remain stably housed.
Earning an income enables residents to start paying rent each month. With reliable funds from a job or through General Assistance or Social Security, people are able to start to manage their finances independently.
Attending community meetings and events, volunteering, and/or advocating for policy change, residents become active members of our community. Health complications, substance misuse issues, and visits to the hospital are gradually reduced as residents are able to take control of their physical and mental health.

My kids graduated high school with honors and are now in college, pursuing careers, and starting their own families. I am a grandmother of two and another on the way. I have a home. I have a life. I may not be rich, but I have a very rich life.
