     Serving a meal in the Daily Free Meals Program is a transformative experience. This program requires 85 volunteers each day to fill the breakfast, prep, lunch and dinner shifts, 364 days a year. With your help Glide can serve up to 2,400 meals per day to our community. Volunteers assist with everything from serving food, to bussing tables, to handing out silverware and condiments. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves, and make some beautiful human connections!

     We will assist with the Day of the Dead event and enjoy the festivities. The ceremony extends to the street with live drumming and the community coming together. We will also enjoy pan dulce and chocolate as part of the celebration!

      Signature Chefs is an annual fundraiser for March of Dimes and it supports the fight to end premature birth, the most significant health threat to moms and babies everywhere. At this Signature Chefs event we’ll be helping to set up the space for their annual fundraiser at The Ritz Carlton. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

  • Project Open Hand (POH1)

    Our shift will begin with an educational orientation and a complimentary lunch.  We will volunteer in Project Open Hand’s Grocery Center and Kitchen. Our tasks may include sorting, bagging, culling food items, stocking the Grocery Center shelves, shopping for the clients or assisting in the kitchen during special projects.  We may also slice and dice whole foods and help assembling meal packages for clients to pick up.

  • Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP1)

    We will receive a brief orientation and then help with sorting goods that have been donated for the families they serve. The Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) is an award-winning San Francisco Family Resource Center. For 25 years, HPP has provided poor and homeless families the ability to end childhood poverty. Built on a foundation of supportive, nonjudgmental case management, HPP empowers families, particularly mothers motivated by pregnancy and parenthood, to recognize their strengths and trust in their own capacity to transform their lives.

  • SF AIDS Foundation (SFAF2)

     We’ll help SF AIDS Foundation in putting together materials for harm reduction kits that are passed out freely to people in need.  San Francisco AIDS Foundation works to end the HIV epidemic in the city where it began, and eventually everywhere. Through education, advocacy and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease.

      At Muttville we will receive an orientation and then we will meet and play with the dogs and assist with facility and maintenance work. Through associations with shelters and other animal organizations, Muttville finds senior dogs that have been given up and are not likely to find adopted homes. Through outreach and networking, Muttville finds suitable new homes for these dogs.
