Jazzie Collins Apartments provides 96 homes to formerly homeless single adults in the Hub neighborhood of San Francisco. The project was awarded an $11.5 million award from the HCD Multifamily Housing Program in December 2019 and a competitive TCAC/CDLAC award in April 2020. Groundbreaking took place in March 2021 and the grand opening took place in July 2022. The building offers permanently affordable, supportive housing targeted at formerly homeless single adults referred through the City and County of San Francisco’s coordinated entry system.  The project is a joint venture with Strada Investment Group.

THE BUILDING

The building consists of 96 efficiency studios. All units include a private bathroom with a kitchenette and furniture. The building design includes an onsite resident services suite which can be accessed by all residents free of charge. On-site amenities also include a community room, community kitchen with pantry, laundry room, and outdoor courtyard. The property provides 24-hour desk clerk coverage and full-time onsite property management staff.

JAZZIE COLLINS

Jazzie Collins was a fierce trans activist who drove positive social change in San Francisco. Jazzie organized for Senior and Disability Action, served as Vice Chair of the LGBT Aging Policy Task Force, and sat on the San Francisco Trans March Board of Directors.
