What is Thrive?
Thrive is a series of workshops and experiences designed to help HomeRise residents build confidence, strengthen career skills, and prepare for the next chapter of their lives by accessing the knowledge and resources of corporate and community partners.
Housing is the foundation for stability, but long-term success depends on confidence, opportunity, and connection. Thrive supports residents who are ready to take their next step, providing practical tools, encouragement, and professional guidance, while inviting partners and supporters to play an active role in that journey.
A Structured Pathway to Opportunity
Thrive is designed as a sequential series of sessions that combine career readiness, confidence-building, and professional networking. This intentional structure ensures that residents receive not only practical tools, but also the relationships and encouragement needed to move forward with clarity and purpose.
Series Launch
The Thrive Series begins by welcoming residents into a supportive, forward-looking community focused on growth and opportunity. Participants are introduced to the full journey ahead, explore available resources, and begin setting meaningful career goals with guidance from staff and volunteers.
Confidence & Preparation
This portion of the series centers on helping residents feel polished, prepared, and proud as they step into new professional spaces. Through personalized support such as grooming, wardrobe styling, professional portraits, and conversations about first impressions and code-switching, participants strengthen both their outward presentation and internal sense of readiness.
Career Prep
Career Prep sessions focus on building practical, real-world skills that strengthen job readiness. Residents receive hands-on support with resumes and LinkedIn profiles, practice interviewing through mock sessions, and develop confidence navigating workplace communication and professional expectations.
Career Connections
The series culminates in Career Connections, a dynamic event that brings residents and professionals together to build meaningful relationships. Through small-group conversations, one-on-one coaching, and shared storytelling, participants expand their networks and celebrate their progress.
